The Humboldt chapter of Canadian Tire Jumpstart is still taking applications.

With sports and other activities already underway or starting shortly the group wanted to send out a reminder about their service.

"Even though some of the sports have already started, if your child hasn't start a sport yet or if there is still spots available that they want to register in we can still get an application in to Jumpstart," Chair Amy Hogemann explains. "It helps with not only the registration cost but also the equipment cost or travel costs associated with the sport or activity they are interested in."

Hogemann wants to tell people that they do help out with more than just sports.

"It's not just sports like hockey or volleyball, we also fund activities like Scouts and martial arts as well so if there is a sport or activity that you are interested in you can call always just call and make sure it's on the list and then we can talk about the application steps further."

The organization, under the umbrella of Canadian Tire provides financial assistance to kids that may miss out on a chance to play sports or get involved in other activities.
