Robbie Burns is a celebrated Scottish poet whose work is still remembered to this day.

Every year about this time communities across Canada and the globe host ceilidh(parties) in honour of the man.

This year the Humboldt Legion is putting on a Robbie Burns night on January 16th.

Spokesman Ken MacNaughton lines up the long list of entertainment.

"The entertainers are Rocklen McLean, Maxine Moore, Joan Jackson, Elliotte Dilabeau, Stuart Williams and Elish McAnaly. Entertainment is continuous through out the evening."

It would not be a Robbie Burns celebration without plenty of Scottish cuisine including roast beef, haggis, tatties(potatoes), neeps(turnips) and triffle.

Tickets are available at Cottage Boutique, Causeway Health and Shopper's.

MacNaughton is excited to welcome everyone to the event for just $20/person.

"One of the reasons is it's bringing out heritage and it's important for the community to get involved in these things so there is a better understanding of inter-nationality and camaraderie in the community."

The deadline to purchase tickets is Monday at 4pm.
