A Humboldt man is facing a lengthy list of charges following an early morning robbery on Thursday.

26 year-old Derek Murray is facing charges of theft while armed with a weapon, commit an offence while disguised, unlawful confinement, uttering threats, possession of stolen property, taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving while disqualified and impaired driving.

The RCMP say Murray entered 7-11 with a bandanna over his face while brandishing a knife just before 2 o'clock. The lone employee at the store was told to remain in the washroom while the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and other merchandise.

Witnesses saw the man leave in a tan coloured GMC Terrain and within minutes the Humboldt RCMP pulled the vehicle over and apprehended the driver. He was subsequently charged.

Murray was scheduled to appear in a Saskatoon court room Friday.
