Humboldt Minor Hockey will be hosting a raffle for the 2019 season, and the prize is sure to get anyone excited.

The Humboldt Minor Hockey Association have teamed up with South 20 for their biggest fundraiser of the year. Together, they purchased a 2017 Can-Am ATV and will raffle it off in the year 2019. Raffle tickets will be sold by various businesses across Humboldt. These include South 20, Thompson Travel Agencies, Branding Barn, The Co-op Gas Bar, Bella Vista Inn, as well as Universal Sports. Also, all parents of players will have a book of tickets, so if you know any players or parents of players, feel free to get your raffle tickets nice and early. Tickets are twenty dollars a piece, and all proceeds will go back into Minor Hockey in Humboldt.

Brenda Behiel, a veteran hockey mom here in Humboldt, told us why it is so important to have fundraisers like these, and how they would not be possible without the support of our local establishments.

"It is truly amazing, we went to several businesses, and each and every one of them was more than willing to help out our cause," Behiel said. "It would be great to have access to other businesses in the future." Behiel continued "The support from everyone has been amazing, whether it be a small raffle table to something like this fundraiser, the community outreach has been top notch."

The Humboldt Minor Hockey Association is a non-profit group, whose coaches, managers, and parents all volunteer to make sure hockey teams are available for youth in Humboldt to play for. HMH is open to all ages and skill levels and gives youth the development necessary as hockey players for the future.

Behiel would like to show a huge amount of thanks to the businesses that helped get this fundraiser on its feet. Also, she would like to send a shoutout to all the parents, coaches, volunteers, and players involved with Minor Hockey, noting the program would not be as successful as it has been without these amazing people involved. The Minor Hockey Association looks forward to a great year of development and memory making for all minor hockey players and volunteers.
