Parents with students attending Humboldt Public School will want to inspect their child's head.

The school says that head lice is being reported in the school.

Part of their plan to take precautions from further spreading is to talk to students about head lice facts and what they can do.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority adds that head lice typically do not survive off the head for longer than 36 hours.

It spreads by direct head-to-head contact, or by sharing combs, brushes or headgear.

They say that among the signs of head lice are constant itching of the scalp.
