Humboldt residents are being asked to conserve their water once the weekend is over.

Director of Community Development Jennifer Brooks explains why.

"Starting 6am on Monday we have issued a water conservation notice for the City of Humboldt and users of the water system from Humboldt. This is due to construction that's happening at our water distribution plant and the construction crew needs access to the main SaskWater pipeline"

There is no boiling required, they simply ask that you postpone from watering your lawn or washing vehicles and avoid running taps for long periods of time.

"We're hoping that with the support of residents and businesses to conserve their water that we will only issue a short term notice and hopefully lift it on Tuesday," Brooks explained.

If any issues occur a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory could be put in place but that is unlikely.
