The Humboldt Gallery will have a new exhibit on display. But this masterpiece was painted by 750 people.

The Canada 150 Mural was completed over the weekend, and for the time being is on display at the Gallery.

City of Humboldt Director of Cultural Services Jennifer Fitzpatrick describes the last few days of making the Mural.

"We've had the Gallery full, people coming in and out the last two days. The Mural team put it together until the wee hours of (Saturday) night, and we have a completed Mural that says the word 'Humboldt.' It shows the people of the community, and really a great way to celebrate this beautiful city."

Fitzpatrick describes where it will eventually end up staying.

"So we're really pleased to partner with SaskTel, we asked them if we could put it on their building which is right across from City Hall. They came on board right away and so we're really pleased. We're just going to let people come into the Gallery this week to view the Mural here, and then we're just going to talk with our team to get it installed on the SaskTel building."

Fitzpatrick says it was a great experience to be involved in.

"This is a project of the Mural committee, of the City of Humboldt, and so we saw this was going on across Canada, and we were looking for someway to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday, and this just seemed like the perfect project. It brings community together through art which is just a great way to make the city more creative."

The Mural will officially go up on the SaskTel building across from City Hall sometime this summer.

This isn't the only Canada 150 Mural being painted. The Canada 150 mural will spread to different cities from coast to coast.

All of the Murals will hopefully be completed by July 1st 2017 when Canada turns 150.
