Looking to take a trip to Nova Scotia for the Canadian Jamboree, the First Westminster Scouts of Humboldt are continuing their fundraising efforts on Friday.

Between 11:30am and 1:30pm, they will be selling burgers at the Humboldt Co-op with some help from the community.

"We're partnering with Scotiabank. They're providing us with a couple employees and they're going to match funds. Everything we raise is matched by Scotiabank as well," Leader Aaron Behiel said.

Behiel added that they will be selling bracelets, tickets and other items the scouts have to offer at the barbecue.

While there is some unknown finances in sending the scouts to Nova Scotia, Behiel says that they do have an approximate number in mind.

"We don't have all the costs yet. We don't know the cost of flights, all we know is the cost of registration. Our goal is to raise $2,500 per kid."

Hard at work over the past few months, selling various items at trade shows and other venues, the Scouts have put in quite a chunk of their goal.

"We're probably right at about $20,000 to date. That includes the group putting in $5,000 to send these ten kids to the jamboree."

If you are looking to have your child join the Scouts group, Behiel noted that they conduct registration at city-wide registration in September.
