Muenster School Graduation on Sunday, June 28 wraps up a weekend of outdoor grad celebrations for area students.

Watson School honoured its students on Friday, June 26 in their outdoor ceremony, and Three Lakes School in Middle Lake followed suit with a ceremony followed by a community parade on Saturday, June 27.

Muenster School Principal Dennis Gerwing acknowledged the importance of graduation events, even in this altered fashion. The ceremony goes on the James Korte Field in Muenster.

“We were very excited to hear the news that grad numbers were opened up to accommodate an outdoor celebration. We have guest speakers set up and representation from Horizon School Division. The difference is that we are outside, so weather is a nervous factor for everyone involved.”

The field is decked out with placards emblazoned with the faces of the thirteen graduates each designating a place for the grads and their families. As with other ceremonies, the event is closed to allow a maximum of only 150 people to participate with appropriate distancing measures in place.

One more event is slated for Monday, June 29 at 7 pm as Humboldt Collegiate parents host a grad “drive by” at Humboldt Collegiate and the Uniplex.
