For four hours Saturday the Canadian Tire parking lot in Humboldt will be busy for Jumpstart Day.

Jumpstart Chair Amy Hogemann says they will have lunch covered as well as another fundraiser for the organization.

"We're going to start selling burgers around 11 o'clock, burgers and a drink are $5. Thanks to a gracious donation by the Danish Oven we are also able to sell Danish Oven donuts for a dollars and we're going to be selling Jumpstart balls fro $2."

Plus they will have their famous dunk tank as Hogemann explains.

"There is a variety of people on there including myself at 2:15, we've got some Calico gymnasts hanging out with us for the afternoon. We've got Clint Spear and Joe Mohr from Canadian Tire and Cam Koskie from South 20 Dodge and then we also have the fire department, they will be bringing one of their cool fire trucks to hang out on in the afternoon as well."

It's all so kids that may otherwise not have the means to participate in sports.

"We're looking forward to serving some kids next year," Hogemann mentioned. "In 2015 we helped 96 kids in Humboldt participate in sports which worked out to almost $16,000 for the Humboldt area. It's things like the Jumpstart bar-b-cue that are so important for us to be able to raise those funds to give everybody a chance to participate in sports."

Overall across Canada, over one million kids have benefited from Jumpstart.
