During Friday night's Bronco game against the Yorkton Terriers, Kidsport representatives will be on hand to raise funds for the organization.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has been partnering with Kidsport for a couple years through these game nights as well as the Goal for Kidsport program.

Community Consultant for Kidsport, Carolyn Gaines says they've had great success so far this year.

"It's been tremendous," she said during last Friday night's game in Estevan between the Bruins and the Broncos. "It's been so great to see the support in the communities, everyone gets so excited when they are making a donation or entering one of the raffles and knowing the money is staying in their community. It's helping local kids, in the end it's going to make the community a happier healthier place."

Gaines added that the initiative goes beyond the funding.

"I know for myself as a young athlete watching games like this, those are your role models. I think it's so important to have that available and for these kids to not only get to see these guys on the ice but try it themselves and emulate the guys they are looking up to and be able to really take those lessons that they learned in sport and apply to the rest of their life."

In the last couple years they have raised around $2,500 during the Broncos specific game night.

"I look forward to seeing all the fans and meeting everyone," Gaines continued. "I know just meeting your Kidsport committee and you are amazing people, i'm really excited to see the atmosphere of the game."

Face-off is 7:30.
