Going into it's 32nd year, the local Christmas Cheer Campaign maintained by the Humboldt and District Kinettes has gotten to be so successful they need some assistance.

Some would argue the programs success could be looked at as being unfortunate that anyone would need to reach out over the holiday season. However in reality Humboldt and it's surrounding communities are not immune to tough times.

PARTNERS Family Services is a non-profit organization helping with numerous avenues of family care, the Kinettes figured they might have an opportunity to help them this year.

"The Kinettes have been doing the Christmas Cheer Campaign in the Humboldt area for years and this year they approached us to see if we would co-chair with them just as the program has grown year over year," Executive Director Hayley Kennedy explained Tuesday. "We are really honoured they came to us and were willing to have us be part of the campaign this year."

You can make a donation through their website or if you prefer not to deal with online options Kennedy has more ways you can help out.

"They can also make a cheque out to Humboldt Christmas Cheer and they can mail that to the Kinettes or drop it off here at our office. We are always looking for donations of toys and food as well. You can drop off donations at Curves, in the Humboldt Mall either outside Extra Foods or outside the Bargain Store and Dairy Queen will be helping out this year as well."

She also has information on how you can seek a hamper, which is confidential through their staff that deals with family issues daily.

"Anybody who is in need can check out the website and do their application there or stop in to PARTNERS, we have the applications here. The applications are open to anybody in the community who might be in need, not just if you are connected to PARTNERS as a client. We want to make sure that anybody in Humboldt or the surrounding communities knows that it's open to them if they are needing some assistance."

The PARTNERS office is located at 905 5th Avenue.
