The Humboldt and District Kinette's Christmas Cheer Campaign is celebrating it's 31st year.

The Kinettes accept donations and make up hampers for people in need at Christmas time.

Kinette Member Kristin Rogers tells us about the Adopt a Family program that runs along side the Christmas Cheer Campaign.

"We also do Adopt a Family, so anyone in town is welcome to adopt a family and they give us a donation for a hamper and then they can also purchase gifts for the children in the family, we also take extra cash donations as well as toys and non-perishable food items."

Donations of toys and non perishable food items can be dropped off at Curves and the Humboldt Mall.

This campaign is very special to the Kinettes said Rogers, "it's nice to be able to help them out and see the smiles on their faces when we either deliver the hampers or they come by and pick them up and to know that those kids are gonna get those wonderful gifts under the tree, it's a really good feeling for us."

If you know of someone that could use some extra assistance this holiday season applications can be found at the Good Neighbor Store, Partners, Humboldt Community Services or Humboldt Housing.

The application deadline is December 2nd. Those selected to 'adopt a family' will be contacted by December 5th.

All donations can be dropped off at the Old Quality Tire building in Humboldt.
