Respiratory illness symptoms in three patients has prompted an outbreak to be declared at a long term care facility in Kinistino.

Outbreak protocolsare in place at the Jubilee Lodge which consists of 30 beds and will have access restricted until further notice.

The outbreak is being investigated by the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region through samples and laboratory analysis.

Cough and fever are being experienced by the three patients so signage is in place and visitors are being limited to the facility.

The public is being asked to keep proper hand hygiene in mind to reduce the risk of spreading illness. Anyone who is ill is also being asked to not visit any health care facility.

In the same facility as the lodge is the Kinistino Primary Health Care Clinic which is not being affected.
