One Humboldt family looks to give back to STARS in a big way.

The Klimosko Family have decided to participate in the 2018 Ryde the Hanger challenge.

The challenge takes place at the Stars Hanger at the Saskatoon Airport.

Participants ride stationary bicycles, while an instructor leads and gives guidance and motivation along the way.

Sessions last about an hour, and there are approximately 200 bikes set up.

The decision comes after the April 6th crash that affected the entire community of Humboldt.

When asked why they chose to accept the challenge, Brayden Kilmosko said this.

"You want to give back in some way, right?"

"I think that was the way we thought we could give back as a family, it's a great cause and we all were equally interested in it."

The Klimosko's have always had a connection to the team.

Klimosko is a former player and coach, as well as his entire family being involved with the organization over many years.

Stars played a crucial role in the preservation of life, after the worst bus crash in Canadian history.

They have been in operation since 1985, saving countless lives around the province.
