Francis Kunz is looking to make good on another attempt to get on Humboldt City Council.

Kunz fell short on his attempt to gain a council spot in 2012. He tells us why he is once again on the ticket in 2016.

"I'm running not for myself, but for all our citizens. I believe we can grow to be a vibrant community by working with our citizens. A community where families can come, stay and retire."

He says that when the new council begins, communication with residents needs to be improved.

"Our environment we live in is harsh on this infrastructure. We will always be faced with infrastructure problems," he explained. "We need to be more open with our citizens on our plan to repair our crumbling infrastructure. How, where, when, who and why."

Kunz added that in helping Humboldt grow, more options need to be brought in.

"Development is our key issue for growing Humboldt. We need to encourage new development, businesses and residential for young families and our aging population," he said. "More development means more jobs, growth and increased tax base to fund new projects for our citizens."

"I, on council, will support the present federal and provincial funding. We need to grow Humboldt's tax base. Not by taxing our existing population more, but by bringing in new development and new residents."

Kunz has been a member of the Humboldt Fire Department since 1986.

The 2016 Civic Election will be held on Wednesday.
