Close to $1000 was raised for the Co-op Good Buy To Hunger Campaign by the Lake Lenore School.

From December 3rd through December 18th, the Lake Lenore School collected $10.00 donations from community members. The students then took the money and purchased canned goods and other groceries to put in bags with the donating families names on them.

Ralph Viczko, Principal at Lake Lenore School, talked about the final tally.

"We brought in about $500.00 worth of donations last year, and initially our total this year was around $700 but through late donations, the total was bumped up to over $900.00. This is just fantastic to see."

Viczko also talked about how the accessibility of the program was a large factor in its support.

"Not everybody gets the opportunity to just pop into the store and do that, and not everyone lives directly in the community, so it just provides a chance for our students to learn what it means to share throughout the community."

The final tally of food just barely fit into four shopping carts.
