The community of Jansen was packed with Canada Day revelers Saturday, and all weekend as they celebrated a homecoming too.

As part of the celebrations they had helicopter tours of the region.

Kimberly Block was part of the organizing committee, she explains where the funds raised are going.

"All the funds are being donated to the LeRoy daycare, we are in the fundraising process right now hoping to start building as soon as possible."

They haven't ventured into this type of fundraising but the chopper was busy and it worked out well. Block was thankful the way it worked out.

"The whole event is put on the by the community of Jansen, they do this every year and it's a big event this year. This is the first time we've been on location like this."

They had 450 people registered for the homecoming alone, it's estimated 1,500 people showed up for their fireworks display.

Bolt FM's Calum McAnally took a tour of his own, you can see that here.
