This Friday is the early bird deadline for the LeRoy Leisure Lotto.

The highly successful fundraiser is in it's 13th year this year raising money for organizations in their town.

Chair Leona Wakelam talks about how it all came to fruition many years ago.

"There was so many groups in town, not just Leisureland that needed money. Maybe we could come together and grab people from all those little groups and form a bigger group that could put some money back in these organizations and that's what we did."

Among the organizations benefiting from the lottery are the LeRoy School, the senior's centre, the museum, the skating club, the curling club, the school of dance plus more.

Wakelam says their support over the years has spread well beyond the area.

"I have to really commend people supporting small town Saskatchewan. We get a lot of calls from people from Regina, Saskatoon, big centres that really support small town Saskatchewan and know that it's important for activities for the kids and our seniors."

The early bird deadline is 8pm on Friday. Wakelam provides some information on the prize draws if you do purchase this week.

"There are 10 draws of $1,000 and then we also have a bonus draw of a diamond ring and that's valued at over $2,800. We need to emphasize that it's not an elimination draw, you have 10 chances to win, 11 if you count the ring but all of that also goes back in."

The main prize cutoff date is Friday, February 17th at 8 o'clock. The grand prize is a choice of a leisure package, the second choice is a cabin package or you can simply take $130,000.

In total there is almost $200,000 in prizes.
