On Monday night the public was made aware of what the RCMP are dealing with at this time in the area as a public meeting took place.

The RCMP Town Hall Meeting was held at LeRoy Wildlife hall from 7 to 9:30 P.M. for citizens in the local area. Around 30 people in and around the area showed up to be part of the meeting.

People discussed Community Policing, public concerns, and Crime Prevention and Reduction. A guest speaker was also available to talk about the steps on how to set up a rural crime watch program as people were able to ask questions after the presentation. The main focus of the meeting was to give the public an idea as to what the RCMP are dealing with and what to aware of in the local area.

"Anytime we can get information out to the public as to the growing crime trends in the area and empower people to help. We are always looking for more eyes and ears out there on the street and definitely, a well-informed public helps to bring useful information during our investigations," said Adare Guest, detachment commander for Humboldt and Lanigan.

The RCMP also wen over numbers referred to what happened over the last year or so in the community.
