The Reid-Thompson Library in Humboldt is looking to help keep reading in the front of your kids' mind, and keep them busy this summer.

Throughout July and August, the TD Summer Reading Club will take place on Monday afternoons with different reading themes. There will also be other activities on Wednesday's.

"The goals of the TD Summer Reading Club are to encourage and strengthen the habit of reading to create lifelong learners, to increase children's reading skills and to develop a taste for reading," stated Rose Ward, Humboldt Branch Librarian.

Tailored for kids in pre-school up to 12-years-old, the program celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories.

An opening registration night takes place Tuesday with in-branch challenges and a mystery reader. Ward says that if you are unable to attend the opening night, your kids can sign up anytime after.

The club then continues twice a week throughout the summer.
