Ice covered Main street at the corner of 6th Ave.

Freezing rain early Wednesday morning glazed local area highways and streets with ice; deeming them unsafe for travel.

According to the highway hotline specific highways were "not recommended for travel" because of the conditions, as a result vehicles were left stranded in ditches. 

Humboldt area school buses were cancelled Wednesday morning because of the roads; however, they should be running in the afternoon.
