In the wake of their new look, the Reid Thompson Public Library held a public reading.

Tuesday night, author Barbara Longhorst read from her book titled "Want". She started writing the book in 2013 and finished it in 2016.

The book has sold over 4 hundred copies. It's a story about a girl who has concerns about the world's problems. As problems get worse, the only way to counter the worry is by buying a new kitchen.

"The main character is based on my circumstances or my life but what happens to her is really different than anything that has or likely would happen to me. I will not be getting a new kitchen unless the book does really well," said Longhorst.

She also stated the new wall design in the library matched the theme of the book.
