The Humboldt Food Bank will be getting a much-needed boost this winter.

Locked Up Outfitters, from Anaheim, have teamed up with Modern Meat here Humboldt.

Kyle and Ashley Klashinsky run their wild game business, meanwhile, Calvin Lukan handles the Modern Meat end.

Locked Up Outfitters donated a total of 230 pounds of waterfowl smokies, and homemade hamburger.

Kyle Klashinsky said it was awesome to give back to such a giving community.

"My Wife, Ashley, and I felt we were fortunate enough to give back to a community," said Klashinsky.

Locked Up Outfitters is a waterfowl hunting group. Most of the participants take their meat home, but some will leave theirs behind.

Seeing this happen more frequently as of late, Klashinsky had the idea to donate it.

When he pitched that idea to Calvin Lukan of Modern Meat, Mr. Lukan had no issues to oblige for such a generous cause.

All meat will be donated to the Humboldt Food Bank.

This donation really shows the giving spirit we all take pride in here in Humboldt and area.
