With the Halloween theme, local schools in the Humboldt area have been busy canvassing their communities for donations to the food bank.

In Bruno, students from the school collected food and cash to donate to the Humboldt Food Bank. Total contributions included a cash donation of $300.

Students from Humboldt Collegiate Institute hit the streets of Humboldt to collect non-perishable food donations on Tuesday.

Eight students participated in collecting the food over a number of days, culminating in the Halloween drive.

HCI donated six large boxes of food for the food bank.

"The kids were happy with the generosity of everyone they spoke to," said Teacher Stacy Jackson. "We would like to send out a huge thank you to residents of Humboldt!"

The school's Student Action Squad orchestrated the food drive.
