It's the end of an era for the Humboldt Dental Clinic as longtime Dentist Dr. Bill Prokopishin has decided to call it quits.

He says he has built up quite the business at the Humboldt Dental Clinic.

"I'm leaving a practice that I have built over the many years. I have two dentists that have practiced with me for five years, and Tuesday we're getting a new one so we'll have three dentists. It tells you the practice that we have built up here."

Prokopishin tells us why he has finally decided to finally throw in the towel.

"I now have spent 53 years in dentistry, I'm going to be turning 81 on September 20, so I feel it's about time I quit. I've had a great run of dentistry here in Humboldt, it's been a great place to practice."

He explains what he's looking forward to in retirement.

"Now I am going to go rest for a bit, then I'm hoping we golf a bit, fish, go to the cabin, and spend some more free time."

Treats were available to the public yesterday as they held a celebration for his last day.

Prokopishin adds that he couldn't have asked for a better place to practice than in Humboldt.
