Deputy Premier Don McMorris has stepped down from that post as well as the Saskatchewan Party caucus.

At a news conference on Saturday, the MLA for Indian Head-Milestone admitted he was arrested for impaired driving after returning from the Fort Qu'Appelle region. He was pulled over near White City just east of Regina.

"I have no words to describe how sorry I am to my family, to my colleagues and to all the people of Saskatchewan for my actions. But saying sorry is not enough," McMorris said during an apology.

McMorris was the minister responsible for both the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority as well as Saskatchewan Government Insurance.

Premier Brad Wall expressed his disapointment and said he will name an interim minister to assume McMorris's responsibilities on Monday.
