Two new exhibits opened at the Humboldt and District Gallery Friday.

Paula Cooley's Mix display will be on until June 18 at the downtown location in Humboldt.

Cultural Programmer at the Gallery, Nicole Myker provides more about Cooley's work.

"She is a ceramic artist and her exhibition is a combination of ceramics, various different firing methods, as well as different mediums that she incorporates into her exhibitions."

Cooley will be speaking about her work Thursday night at the Gallery as part of an opening reception for the two exhibits.

Doors for the event open at 7:00 with Cooley speaking at 7:30.

On display until April 23 is Inspired Movement by Bart Pragnell.

"He was an artist down in Moose Jaw who was inspired by everyday movement of the body and environment, and he tried to incorporate all of those aspects into his artwork."

Pragnell's exhibit is particularly unique, as all of his work is on display posthumously following his death in 1966.

Myker added the process in which they undertake to continue to secure new work to display.

"We do usually put out a call for submission which can be found on our website," she said. "Bart is brought to us by OSAC. We have about four shows every year. There are various ones from which we get to choose from."

The Gallery, located at 601 Main Street, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00pm.
