A moose was found shot and left to waste outside the community of Carmel in late January.

On January 22nd Humboldt Conservation Officers received information regarding a moose that had been shot on private land South of Carmel, Saskatchewan. The moose was determined to be shot sometime between Sunday, January 20th, and Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019

Officers located it approximately one mile West of the Carmel Pottery Church. There was no open moose season during that time. The moose was “barrel” dressed, leaving a significant amount of edible meat to waste.

Tire tracks from a two-wheel drive vehicle were identified at the scene, and some evidence was collected.
