Rob Muench

Nominations close on Wednesday, and now the City of Humboldt has its first public candidate for Mayor.

Councillor Rob Muench announced on Facebook Monday night that he will be seeking the titleship of Mayor in the upcoming election.

Muench has served on council since 2006, which is something he cites as being beneficial as the next Mayor.

"I feel the implementation of all the past planning for growth and reconstruction would be best led by someone with City Council experience," he stated.

As of Monday morning, the city had accepted six nominations - all for spots on council.

The deadline for nominations is Wednesday at 4:00pm. The election will be held Wednesday, October 26.
