The community of Muenster will require a by-election on April 17th to fill vacated positions on its village council. The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Muenster's mayor, Reva Bauer. Bauer has accepted a new work position which necessitated a move from the community.

The second position vacated was that of Council member David Hogemann. Hogemann resigned his council position with the intention of running for the Mayor's seat.

Village Administrator Rose Haeusler breaks down the candidates, "We have two nominations for Mayor; those will be David Hogemann and Scott Davis. We have one position open for councillor and we have one nomination, Doug Hushagen. He will be elected by acclamation."

The contested position of Mayor will be decided in the by-election on April 17th. Polling will take place at the Muenster Village Office, located at 306 Railway Ave. The poll will be open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm that day.
