The Humboldt Mural Committee is beginning to prepare for their Summer event that involves being part of a Canada wide mural to celebrate the milestone of our nation.

Thursday from 11 o'clock until 1pm they will host a bar-b-cue in front of the museum on Main Street and 6th Avenue.

Museum Curator Jennifer Hoesgen talks about what they need to raise funds for.

"We need 750 four inch tiles painted, so the funding that we're doing Thursday will be to bring this artist team out from Alberta, create and supply all the materials and just create this beautiful mural within two days."

During the bar-b-cue you will be able to sign up for a shift to paint the tiles. That will occur on June 17th and 18th.

"Come out and enjoy a hamburger, there will be some dessert as well," Hoesgen continued. "If you are interested in helping to support the mural we are accepting donations to do that."

Their goal is to raise $10,000. The mural itself will be mounted on the side of the Sasktel building in the heart of downtown Humboldt.
