Music lovers in Humboldt and area have a place to shop for music in downtown.

Main Street Music and Books has moved into the block across the street from the post office, and held an open house on Saturday.

Walter Bushman now owns the music store.

He talks about how it all came together.

"It all fell into place fairly smoothly, like I had to apply for a business licence of course, and a tax number, and all those kinds of things. They all had to fall into the proper sequence because some things you can't do until you have business licence and et cetera. It was a fairly short timeline but everything fell into the place pretty well."

Bushman describes some of the benefits of being downtown.

"From my own experience as a customer, I was liked driving by (the old) store, and looking in the window and seeing what new guitars they had up or amplifiers or whatever, when I was driving down Main Street, I'd always look over to the window. So it was important to me to have a window on Main Street that other customers could do that same thing to."

The music store held their open house on Saturday.
