The Naicam and District Community Council is hosting a classroom snowmobile safety course this Saturday.

From 9am-4:30pm basic snowmobile safety and typical snowmobile issues will be covered.

Gwen Hacking, with the Naicam Community Council talked about who should take the class.

"The age of the students taking the course is usually 12 and over but students that are 11 but turning 12 a short time after are able to take it they just won't get their certificates until they are 12."

Pre-registrations are being taken online at sasksnow.com or call the Naicam Town Office at 874-2228.

"I believe that if they just showed up for the course at 9 o'clock on Saturday that they wouldn't be turned away," said Hacking.

The cost of the class is $75 which includes a pizza lunch and prizes.

For $150 a family of three can also take the course.

There will also be a draw for a snowmobile helmet for those who complete the course.

Snowmobile drivers that are 12 years of age and older are required by law to have the course.
