The Naicam Spalding Grower project has finished taking off their wheat crop for the year.

Ron Hetland the president with the organization tells us where the profits go.

"The proceeds from this project go to the Canadian Food Grains Bank which is an organization of 15 different churches to provide humanitarian aid and development primarily in the third world countries."

When asked why they do it Hetland said because "it's the right thing to do."

The project has been in the area for about 20 years. This year they planted wheat and received 86 bushels an acre.

The area that they farm consists of 146 acres and they have a group of six different churches involved.

Hetland tells us how much money they have raised so far.

"So this project has raised 2.5 million dollars in that time to go into foreign aid."

Over the years they rotate what they farm for wheat, canola, barley and sometimes oats.

Anyone is welcome to join the project.
