Country music fans planning on heading to Country Thunder Saskatchewan this summer will need to be aware of a major change to the bag policy for the main bowl area and 'main street' during the event.

Bags no longer approved include backpacks, camera bags, large purses, and coolers.

Safety and time-saving are noted as the two main reasons for the change.

"I think it has a lot to do with the world we live in, but it all comes down to the safety and comfort of our fans," stated Gerry Krochak, Director of Marketing and Media Relations for Country Thunder.

Country Thunder Bag Policy

The now-approved bags that concert-goers are allowed to carry to the main bowl area and 'main street' include: clear, plastic bags (to a maximum size of 14 inches by 17 inches by 6 inches...14" x 17" x 6"), standard one gallon disposable freezer bags, and small clutches that are no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".

"It will help expedite the process for anyone coming into that main area at Craven," adds Krochak, who says this release in February should give any attendees plenty of time to plan ahead for this summer's festival. "We have to get out in front of it and that's why people are hearing this now, so it's consistent leading up to each of our Country Thunder events."

The 2018 festival runs July 12-15.
