There hasn't been a whole lot for the youngest 50 students at Humboldt Public School to play on over the last few years, principal Clayton Parobec says.

That changed Friday with the installation of a new $40,000 playground with the help of volunteers.

"We're putting a new structure that is a little bit smaller, obviously, to suit the needs of Pre-K/Kindergarten students, as well as some swings. it's just a great day," Parobec said.

The playground, mostly paid for through fundraising over the past few years, offers opportunities to develop, he said.

"The things we have in place are everything from standing, fine motor skills, with their hands and learning activities."
