The Saskatchewan Party's next voice in the Melfort riding has been announced.

Todd Goudy won the majority vote at a nomination meeting held on Wednesday night in the city.

Goudy beat out three others for the nomination, including former Lake Lenore Mayor Scott Lessmeister.

The riding represents area communities including St. Brieux, Lake Lenore, Naicam, and Watson.

Over 800 ballots were cast at the meeting.

The New Democrats will announce their candidate for a future by-election at a nomination meeting on Monday.
