With temperatures expected to hover just above the freezing level in Humboldt and the region this weekend, perhaps one last look at winter is upon us.

John-Paul Cragg, an Emergency Preparedness Meteorologist at Environment Canada says a low pressure system is going to be making its way through the province but the weather models don't agree on how much snow, or rain it will develop.

"What they are in agreement on is the fact that temperatures will fall drastically into this weekend. There will probably be some precipitation of some type really starting on Saturday and ending on Monday."

Environment Canada is even listing Friday as having a 60 percent chance of rain, a double digit high of 12 is expected but that's the warmest it will be for about a week.

Cragg says there could be some unpleasant driving conditions throughout the mild April storm as well.

"It's the typical situation where you get the slushy snow on the roads making them quite slippery, it might catch some people off guard. It's important to remember winter has gone away completely yet, it's possible for it to rear it's head and poor driving conditions can come with that."

There is some good news, Cragg expects the first week of May is when the temperatures will start to climb back to more seasonable numbers.
