The Onstage Dance festival took place last week which saw Dancers from all over competing here in Humboldt.

Abbey Dutton was happy to be back in her hometown to be an adjudicator.

"I'm so incredibly happy to be able to come back and I really do thank all the organisers of Onstage Dance Festival for giving me the honour to come back and participate, and also great job to all the students who participated as well as the teachers and the parents."

Dutton grew up in Humboldt and moved to Vancouver to pursue a career in performing.

Dutton goes on to explain how her experience was.

"It was the best experience because I remember what it was like being up on the stage so it was really eerie and strange and a bit magical to suddenly be on the other side."

She gives advice to any young person looking to excel in any form of arts.

"If you love it, just keep going towards it. You might not get the work in the way that you think you're going to but there is always a place for you and it may surprise you just how far you'll go or exactly what you're gonna get."
