February 2nd was a day of information for students and parents at one local college.

St. Peter's Institute in Muenster hosted a Campus Open House day for future students and their families to get a better idea of what life at the campus is really like.

The snow had a bit of an effect on the traffic numbers, with only about 20 or so in attendance for the day.

Alison Hinz, a Student Services Officer on campus at St. Peter's, talked about what the school hoped to accomplish.

"Starting at about noon, we gave some presentations about the college and what to expect for newcomers.

We are also discussing some of the more specific programs, as well as giving people the opportunity to ask questions and possibly narrow down their education path."

Hinz also gave some insight as to how the college itself views days like this one.

"Post-secondary education can be very difficult to navigate, so being able for new students to physically view the campus and ask questions that are necessary to helping them in the future."

The question and answer periods of the day featured two of the professors on staff, as well as a handful of current students.
