The Kelsey Trail Health Region has lifted their visitor restriction at Parkland Place.

The restriction was implemented on March 14th after an outbreak was declared due to eight residents and one staff member showing symptoms of a respiratory illness.

Those included congestion, coughing and fatigue, test results indicated it was the flu.

An outbreak is declared at a care home when a minimum of three people show symptoms in a 24 hour period.

The KTHR says the public can help prevent the spread of illness by washing your hands with soap and water, use hand sanitizer frequently, covering your mouth and nose while sneezing, sanitizing largely touched items such as door knobs and hand rails plus staying home if you are sick.
