Humboldt based PARTNERS Family Services is happy to announce the "Bridging Resources Fund."

With the proceeds of last year's "Community Rising Gala" the organization has set up the fund to help anyone in a dire circumstances needing financial aid.

Executive Director Hayley Kennedy says there is a number of programs in the region to assist clients but they want the gaps even tighter.

"Gaps do exist in terms of services offered here whether it's needing some additional income assistance if there is an immediate need to get things like baby formula or diapers and it's not available elsewhere. We wanted to make sure that our clients had access to those things immediately without having to wait or potentially look at going to Saskatoon to access supports."

Since December 1st, $500 has been utilized to purchase must have items for a number of people.

Everything is confidential, Kennedy is urging people to look into their initiative.

"We really encourage anybody in the community who is in a spot of emergency or crisis to get in touch with our office or if there is already an agency in town that you are working with to get in touch with your worker there and we will accept referrals from anywhere. Our goal is always to provide an answer to you and assistance the same day."

Those needing support, or looking for more information on the criteria for accessing the fund, can stop by their office at 905-Fifth Avenue or call them at 682-4135.
