The month of August had citizens donate school supplies as part of the annual Partners School Supply Drive.

Family Support Coordinator Teryn Ulriksen explains about what they Drive is.

"We started taking donations earlier in August. this year we were able to provide school supplies for about 41 kids. The supplies themselves were down a little bit this year but we were still able to help quite a few families out."

Citizens were encouraged to bring donations such as binders, pencils, crayons and other school supplies to the drop off locations at Office Experts, The Bargain Shop, and PARTNERS Family Services.

"We've actually been giving out supplies the last couple of days here, I believe Friday is the last day for people to pick their stuff up," explained Ulriksen. "With school starting next week hopefully we can get them all out before that happens."

She adds that the Drive is important to have in Humboldt.

"It's a need in the community that we've seen over the last couple of years. It's something that we have seen a real need for and it's just one that we can help out families with making sure the kids can have a good experience at school."

The Drive got underway in the beginning of August and wrapped up last week.
