With another school year approaching, families will be out searching for their annual list of school supplies.

PARTNERS Family Services in Humboldt is looking to help support local kids and families with their annual school supply drive.

Family Support Coordinator Teryn Ulriksen says that they have seen a rise in the number of families looking to access the service.

"Last year we helped over 50 families, so the number has been increasing over the last couple of years," she explained. "We're just looking to help as many people as we can."

Ulriksen says that they are looking for your basic everyday classroom items.

"We will take anything for donation, like pencils, backpacks, pencil sharpeners, pens, all that kind of stuff," she said. "Anything that people can help supply, that would be great."

Those looking to donate to the drive can do so by visiting one of three drop off points in the city.

Donations can be made at the PARTNERS office on 5th Avenue, Office Experts on Main Street, and The Bargain Shop in the Humboldt Mall.

Ulriksen noted that for those looking to receive supplies, they can be assisted as well.

"If people want to register to get the school supplies, then they can contact the office, walk in, send an e-mail, whatever is easiest for them."

The drive began on Tuesday and will run until August 25.
