PARTNERS Family Services Positive Parenting Program is offering a new eight week in-depth group program starting this Thursday.

The group program will be held at the St. Augustine School library from 6 o'clock until approximately 8:30pm.

"We're going to be giving out all 17 strategies that Triple-P has to offer," explained Coordinator Teryn Ulriksen. "For parents or caregivers or anybody looking after children ages zero to 12 that's maybe struggling a little bit or just looking for some extra tools to help manage some behaviours at home. Maybe they are seeing some behaviours from their kids at school and not sure how to manage that, this is one really good way to do that."

There will be four group sessions, that will be followed by three sessions over the phone with each family and then one last group session to celebrate the completion and discussion on how to move forward after it's complete.

"It's good for anybody that's got children or looks after children on a day to day basis," Ulriksen continued. "We all struggle from time to time, I have four kids of my own so it's something that I use for myself as well. Starting off here in Humboldt, it's a really good central hub for our area, I think it's going to be really great."

Child care will be provided during the sessions if need be, that's provided by the Humboldt Cooperative Daycare staff.

You can still register for the event that will take place at the St. Augustine School library by calling PARTNERS at 682-4135.

Registration is available on a first come first serve basis.
