The Community of Pilger continued one of their long standing traditions over the weekend.

They held their annual snowmobile poker rally and raffle.

Phillip Gaudreau has participated in the rally for many years.

He talks about how it helps the community.

"Our rally is to generate funds to keep our Community Hall together and to keep it up. Our Community Hall is used for various functions, everything from Weddings to Funerals, family get togehthers. Without a Hall, we wouldn't have a place for these things to go on."

Gaudreau describes the tradition of the rally.

"I would say probably the last 30 years that we've had an annual poker rally. Over 30 years, we've seen a lot of changes. The first Snowmobiles that went around that were single cylinders that didn't go much over 30 miles per hour, compared to the multi-state of the art machines that are out there now."

The Pilger Poker Rally traditionally takes place the last Saturday of January every year.
