The Melfort RCMP have laid charges against a Gronlid man after marijuana was found at his residence.

On October 11, police, along with the Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team and Police Dog Services conducted a search warrant of a residence in Gronlid, where they found several marijuana plants.

In addition to the plants, police also obtained three quarters of a pound of marijuana, and two non-restricted guns.

Ross Hanson of Gronlid has been charged with one count for production of cannabis, one count for possession over 30 grams, one count for possession of cannabis resin, and one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The 49-year-old appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on October 15.

Meantime, Premier Horticulture, a company out of Quebec has plead guilty to one count of failing to develop and implement a traffic control plan to protect its workers.

The charge falls under occupational health and safety legislation, and came with a $28,000 fine.

In October 2013, two forklifts collided in the company's shipping yard where one worker was seriously injured.

One other charge was stayed in the October 13 Melfort court appearance.
