Police from Saskatoon are currently on the scene of what is being deemed a serious two vehicle collision.

The accident took place on Highway 2, near the intersection of Highways 2 and 16. 

They say the collision took place at approximately 7:20am on Tuesday.

Detours are in place around the scene and the public is being asked to avoid the area if possible, as delays and detours will be in place for several hours.

STARS Air Ambulance was immediately called to the scene.
