Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan has announced when they will be halting production this winter.

On Wednesday, the fertilizer company announced that production will be stopped at their Allan facility for ten weeks beginning on November 19.

At the Lanigan mine, production will halt for eight weeks starting on December 3.

The company says that the shutdowns are for potash inventory adjustments and to fully utilize their Rocanville mine, which is the lowest cost to the company.

A number of layoffs isn't known at this point, as PCS is looking to potentially shuffle employees around while the shutdowns take place.
